Having founded Educalis in 2015, I am the longest-standing staff member and a bit of a “Jack of all trades”. Weekdays, you’ll find me studying an MSc in Psychology at Gloucester University, having just attained a first-class honours in Psychology, Health & Wellbeing, or overseeing our daytime home education provision. In the late afternoon/evenings and on weekends, if I’m not tutoring Mathematics or Physics, you’ll find me training in First Aid, Mental Health, Manual Handling, and Neurodiversity. I am also a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, specialising in Neurodiversity. I love music and poetry, particularly the work of Brian Bilston.

I have been working at Educalis for many years and have supported many students throughout their A-Levels, GCSEs, and classroom assessments. Alongside helping others achieve educational success, I have completed a Master’s Degree in International Security and Risk Management with Counter-Terrorism, following a First-Class Honours Degree in Criminology & Sociology. I am currently learning Welsh to better support bilingual students and hope to learn BSL in the future to make education even more accessible. Outside of work, I am an avid reader and love travelling, my goal is to visit 30 countries before I turn 30, with Menton, France being my favourite so far! I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, cuddling with my cat Leo and rabbit Peppercorn, and napping whenever I can.

I’m also an active member of Bedwas Young Farmers, competing regularly, including taking our tug-of-war team to the finals!

Having worked for several years with a leading homelessness charity, I am currently completing my Master’s in Philosophy, which builds on my undergraduate background in both Philosophy and Psychology. Leveraging my strong A-Level background in Maths and Science, I specialize in helping students break down complex concepts and build confidence in these subjects. Outside of tutoring, I love spending time with my black Labrador, listening to music, and playing guitar.

Hi, I’m Gwen! I’m currently a first-year PhD student at Imperial College London, where I’m developing mathematical models to describe glacial melt based on its interactions with Earth’s mantle and ocean systems. During my time at Educalis, I taught A-Level Biology and Maths through the medium of Welsh, as well as GCSE and KS3 Maths and Sciences. Outside of my research and teaching, I enjoy running and cycling (especially when rewarded with a cinnamon bun!). An ideal evening for me involves cooking a delicious meal, unwinding with a good book, or catching up with friends.

I am currently in my second year studying Medicine at Cardiff University, having previously completed A-Levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I also volunteer with St John Ambulance, currently serving as the Divisional Manager for Bedwas, covering the Caerphilly area. Previously, I served as a Learner Ambassador on the Qualifications Wales Learner Panel, where students from across Wales advised on new GCSE and A-Level qualifications in line with the new Curriculum for Wales.

I am currently studying Computer Science at Oxford University, having previously studied further mathematics, mathematics, and physics at A-Level. I have a strong passion for both Mathematics and Computer Science, which is why I’m pursuing a joint degree in these subjects. I hope to work in a role that combines these interests, where I can use my skills in problem-solving and analysis. Outside of academics, I volunteer at my local community centre, where I help run a code club and digital help drop-in sessions. I am also deeply passionate about supporting people through illness recovery, a goal I hope to pursue further in the future.
